Runway AIF Community Screening
AI Filmmakers Berlin just hosted Runway’s first community AIF screening.
Last Thursday, we teamed up with Runway to bring the winning films from this year’s AI Festival to IL KINO, fresh from their gala premieres in NYC and LA.
All 50 seats were taken, people were standing at the back. And honestly, the biggest surprise was not the full room. It was the films. From Grand Prix winner A Face Only a Mother Could Love to films from Korea, Kenya and beyond, each one had its own voice and emotional world.
Before the screening, Runway co-founder Cristóbal Valenzuela shared a message with the Berlin audience: focus on the stories, not the technology.
It was the right way to watch.
And the best part came afterwards. Filmmakers, artists and technologists stayed outside talking long after the final film ended.
A big thank you to Timmy Highley and the Runway team for trusting us to kick this off, to IL KINO for hosting us, and to Alexander Wüst and Ludwig Kienle, who helped make the evening happen.
More soon.
